About DrumZout Committee

Percussion Instruments were the first musical devices ever created. The human voice was the first musical instrument, but percussion instruments such as hands and feet, then sticks, rocks, and logs played instrumental roles in the evolution of music.

Here in Singapore, there is no national benchmark for percussionists to measure themselves to. Realising the lack of a credible platform in the percussion industry, Ms Chin Wen E formed a 27-men strong committee in Aug 2008. Her aim was to bring the Nationwide Percussion Competition, DrumZout 2010 to greater heights than its predecessors DrumZout 2008 and DrumZout 2009.

The committee consists of students from various faculties under the umbrella of Nanyang Technological University Cultural Activities Club. These students hold different portfolios in the committee and they bring with them a single vision of creating a credible benchmark for percussionists
